NEW TESTAMENT CHALLENGE
Studies show that nothing will have a greater impact on your overall joy and continuing maturity in the faith than simply reading the Bible. Of course, we already knew that!
The New Testament Challenge is designed to take you through the New Testament in a year by reading 5 minutes a day, journaling 5 minutes a day, praying 5 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
If you are looking for a little more, we've included readings from the Old Testament through out the week and a reading from Psalms on the weekend.
We take you through the New Testament in four cycles. Each cycle begins with a gospel and is followed by the letters and writings which most closely correspond to the gospel we just read. For example, the first cycle will take you through Luke-Acts and Paul's Letters. Luke was a traveling companion of Paul and the author of Acts. Paul's Letters were written to the churches whose stories are chronicled in Acts.
This year our Old Testament readings will take us through the historical books (Genesis through 2 Kings). Next year we will be tackling the Prophets and the Writings.
As always our journey through the Bible is far more meaningful and rewarding when we read it in community. Ask some friends to read along with you and you can meet for coffee from time to time to encourage each other through what you are discovering in the Word.
